at Wayne State University invites applications from well-prepared and
motivated students for endowed Thomas C. Rumble Fellowship. This competitive
award facilitates graduate study in Physics and includes a stipend, full
tuition waiver, housing allowance, and medical and dental benefits.

The Department has state-of-the-art research facilities and offers
excellent research opportunities in theoretical and experimental
high energy nuclear and particle physics, atomic physics, and condensed
matter physics (including biophysics, nanophysics, magnetism,
superconductivity and liquid crystals). Our faculty, postdocs
and students participate in major international collaborations
at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory,
Fermi National Acelerator Laboratory, and Laboratory of Elementary
Particle Physics at Cornell University. In addition, research programs
are conducted at Wayne State's interdisplinary Center for Smart Sensors
and Integrated Microsystems, NanoBioScience Institute, and Institute
for Scientific Computing housing an IBM RS/6000 SP massive parallel
